Annual Meeting 2020

Conservation Planning Specialist Group
Annual Meeting
7-9 October 2020

Please join us 7-9 October for the 2020 CPSG Annual Meeting. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the meeting this year will be held virtually for the first time, but will strive to have the same collaborative and interactive atmosphere it always has. The meeting is open to all CPSG members, partners, and other interested conservationists and will examine pressing conservation issues of the day, as well as tools and processes to meet these conservation challenges.

This year's Annual Meeting is CPSG's 40th. Not only will we look back to celebrate our 40 years of changing the future for species, we will look at how the current world pandemic is impacting species conservation efforts, and will look forward to a future where CPSG and partners lead the species conservation planning revolution to ensure every species that needs a plan is covered by one that is both effective and implemented.

As in past years, this informal working meeting will have an interactive atmosphere. We will pursue topics, including species planning in a virtual environment, how to move more species more quickly from assessment to action, group-based ex-situ population management, through CPSG's meeting format of plenary sessions and facilitated working groups in which all delegates contribute their skills and experience to help address current conservation challenges. As part of the registration process, you will be asked to register for the working group in which you plan to participate at the meeting. This is due to capacity limits for the working groups.

Below is an overview of the meeting agenda. A more detailed agenda will be available closer to the meeting and will be available, along with more detailed working group information and materials, here:
